About

While this blog started as a way to chronicle my 2009 summer travels in Eastern Europe, it has gone through several evolutions since then. From October 2009 through summer 2010, I used it to document my adventures as a Kiva Fellow in three different countries (Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and finally the USA). For those of you who are not familiar with Kiva, I encourage you to check out their website, www.kiva.org. In a nutshell, Kiva is an online person-to-person lending platform that allows individuals anywhere to loan money to entrepreneurs in the developing world. Pretty cool right!

Now I’m working at a non-profit called SHARE: Building a New El Salvador Today that does economic development work in El Salvador. I’ll be doing development and marketing from their Berkeley, CA office. I’m excited to share more about my work as well as my adventures while settling into the Bay Area.

I’m still pretty new to blogging, so I love getting comments and feedback. Let me know if there is something I didn’t explain well or that you would like to hear more about!

    Dear Meg,
All of our KIVA loans are in Nicaragua and we travel there frequently. In fact, we will be going there October 7th. We look forward to your blogs and perhaps our paths will cross in Nicaragua.
